Hey thanks! I can't take any credit for the original lineart, that's all Carlo Barberi. I simply threw down some inks in Illustrator and colors in Photoshop.
You stuff looks good. I'd love to be able to get that painted look on some of my work, but I've spent so much time working on "cell animation" coloring that it's hard to switch gears.

Cell animation... whoa! *jumps up and down* you do animation? That's brilliant man! It's really tedious and all right, having to draw many of the same things over and over!
Kinda depends on the story, I think. and for the style of the penciler. Take Ryan Ottley on Invincible, or almost any Bruce Timm work. The simple shading works well for them because the artwork itself isn't overly detailed, but it wouldn't work with someone the likes of Ethan Van Sciver or Jim Lee.
